Coryphantha elephantidens ‘Tanshi Zougemaru’
Coryphantha elephantidens ‘Tanshi Zougemaru’ is a nursery produced cultivar from Japan with very large fat tubercles with wooly axils, and short but strong radial spines that are reflexed, adpressed to the body. Sweet smelling pink flowers in late summer to autumn as seen in last pic.Â
Requires excellent drainage. Water in moderation during the growing season, keep drier in winter. Thrives in full sun to partial shade. In humid conditions, the exudation of nectar can cause the formation of mold. To prevent this, spray the plant with water to remove the nectar and provide very good ventilation. Â Tolerates fairly low temperatures and is frost hardy as long as it is dry.
